After introducing the multi touch interface on Surface it is not surprising that Microsoft will use it also on the new Windows.
Corporate VP Julie Larson-Green demonstrated the multitouch technology, painting with several fingers at the same time to show how it can process not just touch, but multiple simultaneous input. She said: “It’s much faster to do certain tasks than using a mouse”.
More surprising is the fact that the new interface was presented on a Dell Laptop so, probably, it is available on market. This feature [the multi touch screen] will probably be one of the requirements of a “Windows 7 Ready” PC.
Remains to be seen how practical will be this new input method and if the new Windows will be just a face lift for Vista or a revolutionary product.
I’ve read on a web site that the core of the new OS will be Vista-based.
