A few days ago I have received an e-mail that was ending with:
![]()
As you probably know paper is used excessively in offices and most time is waste. Documents are printed for a few minutes use and the paper is then thrown away. If we could somehow reduce paper usage we will reduce our expense and we’ll help the environment.
Maybe the amount paper you save will not be impressive but if this attitude is adopted by many people the results will definitely be visible. It is a simple action that can be made without negative side effects.
Even more, the whole message including the “picture” is just text so it can be included almost anywhere. The first character is letter “P” (capital P) of the Webdings font and the rest of the message is a text with a font you choose. Text color should be green (I used 0,120,0 or #006600 ).
Also the message can be customized for other purposes like: “… printing this page”, ” … printing this document” etc.
I will use it in my e-mail signatures and, I think, that will appear also on the footer of this website.
where i work.. the bottom message is : save a tree ! don’t print this unless you really need it! Honestly, i rather prefer to print something than to have problems with my eyes later by reading on a screen something (of course , if it is something more than a couple of lines). And… I really don’t think such an action will ever save a tree :)). Because nobody cares. How many times did you recycled a sheet of paper ? 0 ? ;).
Where I work almost everyone uses this message at the footer of e-mails. And noway, nobody cares because everyone’s like you. I care. Why print something that you can read on a screen, if after you read it, you throw it away, anyway!?
If that paper is recycled after i throw it away, it should save a tree anyway….
Regarding the environment…. The idea itself is stupid (with the lower message). The truth is nobody cares. But some just say they care because they want to feel better :).
stupid people like noway kill the forest. Kill him instead!!!! :)))
nice one dann!! :))
i read everything i need on a screen, from a pdf, doc, whatever. it helps me more, i can modify it too, it’s ok with me. when i print something, i lose time printing it, then ordering the sheets of paper (if i’m not smart enough to print them with footers) and in the end, they only end up collecting dust on my desk. so…why not save a tree after all? :)
dann… at least i’m not hypocrite like you are… ok ? Now go recycling boy… and silence.
My text reads: “Be brief, save trees!”
Trees are a renewable resource, and they feed on carbon*oxide (which, BTW, is not a “greenhouse” gas, but WATER is!) giving back OXYGEN!
