A new version of SkypeGadget is available. It brings support for Skype 4.
It can be downloaded from the project’s page: http://victorhurdugaci.com/projects/skypegadget/
Later edit: It was accepted also on Microsoft’s Live Gallery and can be downloaded from there too: http://gallery.live.com/liveItemDetail.aspx?li=a1accefe-803e-43fc-ad30-4e861abda9f9&bt=1

I just downloaded it and got version 1.3. The download name is “SkypeGadget1.3.gadget” It will not register the DLL. I am the Admin on my Windows 7 laptop. No problems adding other software or Gadgets. Any ideas?
Victor,
Your Skype Gadget looks like it would be great. The version 1.3 is what is still being downloaded from Microsoft’s Gallery. I keep getting DLL errors.
I followed your instructions several times and still get the error. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times with the same error.
At your website I downloaded v1.4, I got a zip file. When I expand the Zip file there are many files, but I can find no installation file or other executable. I am not sure what to do to get it installed.
Your help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim
Tim, gadgets are not executable. They are just html files. All you need to do is copy the files from the archive to the gadgets folder.
About the DLL, you must run, with administrative rights, the following command “regsrv32 Skype4COM.dll”.
Let me know if you need more detailed steps.
Yes, could you do a walk through on this? I’d love to get this to work on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit if possible.
